SHERIFF JOHN SPEARS REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ONGOING ACTIVITIES FOR THE YEAR AND NARRATIVE EXCERPTS FROM THE WEEK ENDING August 4, 2014.

7/31  Chadwick Wylie, La Crosse, swerved to miss a deer on County Road O, Town of Bergen.  He overturned, hit a sign post and went through a fence owned by Larry Wrobel, Stoddard. No injuries were reported.

8/2  Joanne Andrews, Mauston, was leaving the Cenex gas station in Chaseburg, when she stuck a vehicle driven by Brett Christianson, Chaseburg.  No injuries occurred.

8/3  Candace Kasten, Friendship, failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of State Highways 27 and 82, Town of Franklin.  She crossed the two oncoming traffic lanes, struck a signpost, and traveled about 150 feet before hitting a tree and coming to a stop.  She reported no injuries.

08/04                3 reportable car/deer (other animal) crashes:

Douglas Novy, Hillsboro on State Highway 33, Town of Hillsboro;

Sidney Moss, Viroqua, on County Road B, Town of Jefferson;

Sarah Niemyjski, Viroqua, on US Highway 14, Town of Viroqua.
