SHERIFF JOHN SPEARS REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ONGOING ACTIVITIES FOR THE YEAR AND NARRATIVE EXCERPTS FROM THE WEEK ENDING February 10, 2014
2/3 A home in the Village of Stoddard home was burglarized. Silver coins, cash, and a handgun were missing.
2/4 Carlton Zarling, Hillsboro, was pulling onto County Road C in the Town of Greenwood when he sideswiped a vehicle driven by John Jeffries, Hillsboro, causing minor damage to Jeffries’ vehicle. Neither driver suffered apparent injury.
2/5 Michael Cauffman, Viroqua, was backing out of a parking stall in a parking lot in the Town of Kickapoo when he hit a parked vehicle belonging to Heather Johnson, Readstown, causing minor damage.
2/6 Raymond Narbone, Stoddard, was turning onto Cottage Street in the Village of Stoddard when he lost control of his vehicle on the snow packed street. Narbone’s vehicle slid into a legally parked pickup truck. The pickup truck was severely damaged. Narbone was not injured.
2/6 Dale Wedwick, Coon Valley, was unable to stop on US Highway 14, Town of Hamburg, and struck the rear of a vehicle owned by Danielle Hoff, Chaseburg who was stopped, waiting to turn. Wedwick had attempted to swerve to miss the Hoff vehicle. When he swerved he then struck a vehicle owned by Edward Bebee, Brownsvill, MN. No one involved suffered apparent injury.
2/8 Michael Dipuma, Necedah, was traveling on State Highway 33 in the Town of Whitestown when he lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle struck a fire number sign and came to rest in the ditch. Dipuma was not injured.
2/8 Justin Stanley, La Crosse, lost control of his vehicle on Fish Hollow Road, Town of Forest, sliding through a fence. Stanley was not injured.
2/10 4 reportable car/deer crashes:
David Proksch, DeSoto, on Proksch Lane, Town of Genoa;
Dawn Melvin, La Farge, on State Highway 82, Town of Webster;
Jonathon Stakston, Cashton, on County Road P, Town of Christiana;
Allison Walent, Westby, on State Highway 82, Town of Webster;
