According to new preliminary data from the state Department of Workforce Development, the non-seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for Juneau County in May was 6.8 percent. That was down from 7.8 percent in April. In Adams County, the unemployment rate was 7.7 percent. May unemployment rates dropped in 69 of Wisconsin’s 72 counties and remained unchanged in the other three.  Wisconsin’s preliminary, non-seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for May was 5.5 percent, down from 5.9 in April. The national unemployment rate is 6.1 percent.
