contributed….(Madison) Rep. Ed Brooks (R-Reedsburg) will be joining State Treasurer Kurt Schuller on Monday, July 29th from noon- 1 P.M. at the Reedsburg Public Library to help people search for and claim their unclaimed property. “Last year the Office of the State Treasurer returned more than a quarter million dollars right here in the 50th Assembly District,” said Rep. Brooks “The unclaimed property program still holds more than $400 million in money that is owed to Wisconsinites, and I’m happy to help Treasurer Schuller reunite my constituents with their missing funds.” Unclaimed property consists of financial assets that have had no activity in over a year, and can come in many forms, including uncashed dividends, forgotten stocks, and abandoned checking accounts, just to name a few examples. People who think they may have missing money are encouraged to attend Monday’s event, or search for themselves at www.wismissingmoney.com .
