Two individuals involved in a fight in downtown Mauston Sunday have been charged with being a party to the crime.  According to the criminal complaint, 23-year old Shawn Zielke was holding the victim in a parking lot in the 100-block of Maine Street while 39-year old James Stafford struck the victim several times with a baseball bat or mallet causing a fracture to his wrist/forearm area.  Zielke has been charged with being a party to substantial battery and disorderly conduct.  Initially he was only cited for possession of THC.  Zielke is summoned to appear in court on January 9th, 2013.  Stafford was arrested Sunday and transported to the Juneau County Jail.  Stafford has also been charged with being a party to substantial battery and disorderly conduct.  During a hearing Monday, bail was set at a $5000 signature bond and Stafford is to maintain absolute sobriety and have no contact with the victim or Zielke.
