Two Die in Adams County House Fire
Two people died as a result of injuries received in a house fire early Monday morning in Adams County and a third was injured. Sheriff Sam Wollin said, “About 1:40am October 28, 2013 dispatch received a 911 call regarding a structure fire on Evergreen Court in the Town of Easton. Upon arrival deputies found a resident outside the home and the home fully engulfed. The resident had sustained injuries from the fire. Curtis ambulance transported the resident to Moundview Memorial Hospital and the person was later transported to another facility. Investigation revealed two residents of the property were not able to escape the fire and were pronounced dead at the scene by the Adams County Medical Examiner’s Office. Names are not being released pending notification of family. The incident remains under investigation by the Adams County Fire District, Sheriff’s Office, the Medical Examiner’s Office and the State Fire Marshall.”
