Two area farmer co-ops merge
Members of the Wisconsin River Co-op and Farmer’s Co-op Supply and Shipping Association overwhelmingly approved a plan to merge earlier this month. CEO of Wisconsin River Co-op Timothy Diemert said, “this successful merger vote is the result of many months of hard work and dedication put forth by the directors and employees of both cooperatives.” Diemert will manage the merged cooperative. Farmer’s Co-op General Manager, Monte Wick, will serve as CFO and Vice-President of the Western Division. Now the merged cooperatives will hold a contest among its employees and members to name the newly formed company. Wisconsin River Co-op has operations in Adams, Mauston, Necedah, Plainfield, Plover, and Wisconsin Dells. Farmer’s Co-op Supply and Shipping Association has operations in West Salem, Galesville, Melrose, Mindoro, and Tomah.
