Treasurer of non-profit charged with theft
The treasurer of a non-profit Mauston parents group has been charged in Juneau County with felony theft. According to the criminal complaint, between 2008 and the present 46-year old Lisa Lutz took over 48-thousand dollars from the Mauston Parents and Teachers for Children organization. The group raises funds for pre-kindergarten to 5th students in the Mauston School District. Lutz told investigators that she got behind on several payday loans from cash advance stores in Baraboo and Mauston. After leaving the Juneau County Sheriff’s Office as Dispatch Supervisor, Lutz told the Adams County deputy that she had health problems and surgeries. Investigation revealed Lutz allegedly took $48,174.55 from 2008 to the present. Lutz has paid back $18,612 for a difference of $29,562.55.
