Lyndon Station fire fighters responded to a structure fire Thursday night.  Chief John Kruz said, “the fire on 56th Street was contained to the attic and a portion of the wall.  Fire crews were able to knock it down quickly.  There was approximately $20,000 worth of damage to the house.  All the occupants were awake and were able to exit the house safely, as well as the pets.”  Chief Kruz wants to remind citizens,  “this week is ‘Fire Prevention Week’.  Area residents should take the time and check your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors.”
