Officials at Tomah Memorial Hospital know educating men about their health is something that does not get enough attention. That’s why hospital officials are planning a special event, called Men’s Night -this Thursday from 5-8pm at the Cranberry Country Lodge in Tomah. Hospital Community Health Educator Whitney Sanjari says it is important for women to encourage their guy to take part. “It’s really important to encourage women to bring their men or the men in their life because there are a lot of health screenings here that are offered,” said Sanjari. “I think it is definitely a great idea to look at some of those screenings and then just realizing some of the services in the area.” Free, non-fasting health screenings, like cholesterol, blood pressure and blood sugar will be available. Sanjari said a number of businesses and organizations will have displays geared toward men, their health and lifestyle. At 5:30pm, Jim Dunn from Whitney Sleep Diagnostics and Consultants will present information on men’s sleep issues, while local barbecue Pit Master Darren Price will present a demonstration highlighting healthy options for the grill beginning at 6:45.The free event also includes door prizes, food and refreshments.
