contributed….Tomah, WI—The Tomah High School Drama Club will be presenting “Prom Night Disaster” in the high school parking lot during a combined lunch on Friday April 19th.  With the help of several individuals and groups there will be a mock crash scenario set up in the parking lot.   Emergency vehicles and responders from Tomah Area Ambulance Service, Tomah Fire Department, Tomah Police Department, Oakdale First Responders, Town of Lincoln Fire Department and First Responders will be in the high school parking lot to render assistance at the “mock scene.”  This event will limit access to the high school parking lot during the morning and into the afternoon hours on Friday, April 19th.  Just one day before the 2013 Prom, organizers hope the event will draw student’s attention to the potential ramifications of destructive decisions like underage drinking and driving under the influence.  At the School Board meeting held on Monday, April 15, 2013 Mr. Hay, Tomah High School Principal stated, “we hope to help focus students on making positive choices.  We know that positive choices lead to positive results.”  In addition to the mock crash planned for Friday, the district is also working with community partners to again offer a Post-Prom Party at the Ho-Chunk Cinema.  Post Prom is open to all high school students – attending prom or not.  For just $5 students attending Post Prom are able to screen two new-release movies and are eligible for prize drawings held throughout the evening.  Students can also enjoy a variety of foods provided by local businesses.  The Tomah High School, Tomah Police Department, and all of our community partners encourage all students and parents to make positive choices this prom season –  to ensure a safe, fun and enjoyable time for everyone.
