The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train is coming to Mauston. On Thursday, December 5, the train will make a stop at 4:30 p.m. at the Division Street railroad crossing. The CP Holiday Train features a boxcar stage, a lineup of great musical talent and a contribution to the local food bank. This is the 15th year that the CP Holiday Train has traveled across Canada and the United States, and it will be the 13th year that the Mauston Community Sharing Food Pantry has held an event to view the train. Kathy Green is the Mauston Community Sharing Food Pantry Director. She said that the train travels through Canada and the United States, but it only goes through 150 cities.  She says that any food raised during this event will benefit the food pantry. Green also says that the CP Railroad will also match the donations. Cash will be accepted, and every dollar will go directly to the food pantry. “For every one dollar, the food pantry can purchase five pounds of food,” said Green. The CP Holiday Train will starts its journey in at Portage on Thursday and will make its way through Wisconsin Dells, Mauston, Tomah, Sparta, and will end in La Crosse.
