An Arkdale woman was arrested for taking her neighbor’s car without permission.  The deputy said last month 64-year old Karen Romell had asked to test drive her neighbor’s 1989 Oldsmobile Delta 88 car.  The owner told her that he had just purchased the car and had planned to resell it, but the vehicle was not registered or insured.  He would allow her to test drive it around his property.  Romell drove towards the back and then through the front yard and left the property without permission.  She and the stolen car were located a few days later in the parking lot of the Assembly of God Church parking lot near Adams.  Romell was inside the vehicle.  She had her purse, two suitcases, and several large garbage bags with her personnel belongings.  She was arrested and transported to the Adams County Jail.  She has been charged with operating motor vehicle without owner’s consent.  During a court hearing, bail was set at a $1000 cash bond.
