Six Rivers Toastmasters Meeting
contributed…..If you are looking for a self- development opportunity in the local area, you’ll want to be sure to attend the Monday, October 15, 2012 meeting of the Six Rivers Toastmasters Club. The meeting will be held at the Hatch Public Library Community Room in Mauston and will start promptly at 7 p.m. The mission of Toastmasters International is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every individual member has the opportunity to develop oral communication skills which in turn will foster self-confidence and personal growth. Several speeches will be featured on October 15 but a special speaker, Jeff Ebel, Distinguished Toastmaster from the Stevens Point area will be on the agenda with his Evaluate to Motivate speech. Evaluate to Motivate is Toastmasters’ Successful Club Series presentation that will explain how to give an effective speech evaluation that will not only benefit the speaker, but will strengthen and improve the club members as well. The techniques presented in this fifteen minute program not only apply to speaking, but are directly transferable to the business world. Periodic performance reviews are required at many companies, and providing feedback to employees in a way that encourages development and personal growth can make the difference between success and failure in any company.
Six Rivers Toastmasters meets the 1st Thursday and 3rd Monday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Hatch Public Library Community Room in Mauston. For more information about this event and the club, please contact Margie Strouse at 608-751-7515.
