A trial date will be set for a Mauston man accused of selling heroin. Thursday afternoon 26-year old Roger Bates III was in court with his attorney Mark Lawton. Juneau County District Attorney Mike Solovey appeared for the State. According to the criminal complaint, in May 2012 Bates allegedly sold heroin twice, once in the City of Mauston and once in New Lisbon to an undercover agent. Bates waived his right to a preliminary hearing on a bail jumping charge and stood mute. While out on bail, Bates allegedly talked with an inmate incarcerated in the Juneau County Jail in violation of condition of bond. The bail jumping charge will track with the heroin case.
