The Royall School Board had its meeting on Monday night and approved several items. It voted to add a new position for a speech and language pathologist. Currently, the school district has a contract with Cooperative Educational Service Agency (CESA) 5 for a number of services, one being having a speech and language pathologist. Superintendent Mark Gruen said that the board had talked about CESA employees becoming Royall School District employees before and the current speech and language pathologist would be an excellent addition to the staff. He also said that if the district were to add that position, it would actually save the district some money. The board also decided to move forward with updating their wireless internet network. Gruen said that most districts were already wireless and that this move would help the district catch-up. The board also approved Jennifer Jefferies as an assistant softball coach and Sara Thoneson as a high school assistant track coach.
