Railroad Crossing Repairs Will Cause Detours Through Tomah
Starting May 12 and running through May 16, the Superior Avenue railroad crossing near Washington Street will be closed for repairs, both northbound and southbound. Tomah Public Works Office says there will be 2 detours in place, one described as an Interior Detour for local traffic and the other an Outside Truck Detour. The interior detour will route Superior Avenue traffic onto Arthur, Glendale, and Jackson streets, similar to the route used for the Holiday Train. This entire area will be posted no parking starting Friday, May 9, and will remain the same throughout the project. The Outside Truck Detour will route trucks onto East Vets, Forbes/Industrial Ave, Townline, Sime, and back to Hwy 12/16. If possible, avoid this area and use an alternate route.
