The Wisconsin Department of Transportation will hold a public involvement meeting to discuss the study of Wisconsin Highway 27 from Interstate 90 to westbound Wisconsin Highway 71 in Monroe County, including a segment through the City of Sparta. The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, August 19 from 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Sparta Community Center. The purpose of the study is to identify ways to preserve the functionality and maintain safety along this corridor.  The goal is to identify and plan for long term safety and operational improvements and access management strategies to preserve the corridor in its current configuration for as long as possible.  Wisconsin Department of Transportation and study team staff will be available before and after the presentation to answer questions, explain exhibits, and provide additional information regarding the project.  Wheelchair accessibility is available at the meeting site. Hearing impaired people may request an interpreter at the meeting if they plan to attend by contacting Kevin Ruhland with MSA Professional Services, Inc. at 1-800-446-0679 prior to August 8, 2014 by dialing 711 for the Wisconsin Telecommunications Relay System.
