A Mauston man was taken into custody over the weekend. Police said Saturday night about 10:30pm an officer was dispatched to a residence in the 100-block of Maughs Street in the City of Mauston for an unwanted person complaint. Investigation revealed the neighbors, along with 26-year old James Bendel, Junior, had been at the house yelling at the woman. Bendel had been drinking alcohol, a violation of his probation. Bendel was placed on a probation hold and transported to the Juneau County Jail. A preliminary breath test showed .273%. He was then transported to Mile Bluff Medical Center for a medical clearance then returned to the county jail.
