Probation for New Lisbon man
A New Lisbon man accused of inappropriate sexual contact pled ‘no contest’ to a lesser charge of ‘contributing to the delinquency of a minor’, a misdemeanor. 61-year old James Day appeared in court Tuesday afternoon with his attorney, Rebecca Richards-Bria. Judge John Roemer agreed to the plea agreement, withheld sentencing and placed Day on 12-months probation. Judge Roemer ordered a sex offender evaluation and any recommended treatment. Day was fined $10 plus court costs for a total of $265.60. The second count was dismissed previously because of the statute of limitations. Judge Roemer verified that the State had complied with the victim’s rights law. The charges were the result of incidents that had allegedly occurred in 1998.
