An electrical power outage north of Mauston late Monday morning was a result of a one-vehicle crash. The deputy said about 11:30am a Mauston man, 56-year old Michael Menard, was traveling south on Highway 58 when he either passed out or fell asleep. The 2007 Jeep Liberty crossed the center line and 43rd Street. It continued into the ditch striking an Alliant power pole. The Jeep overturned onto its roof. Menard was uninjured. He was cited for inattentive driving and operating left of center. Menard’s fines totaled $401.00.
