Point man accused of threatening woman with gun
A Stevens Point man has been charged in Adams County with 1st degree recklessly endangering safety and felon in possession of a firearm. The deputy said in May 2012 30-year old Otis Kopstein allegedly pointed a 45-caliber semi-automatic handgun at a woman and threatened her while both were inside a trailer house in the Town of Lincoln. Apparently the victim and Kopstein’s girlfriend had gotten into an argument over a phone charger. Prior to pointing the handgun at the woman’s forehead, Kopstein had pointed the gun out the open front door and fired a single round. A records check showed in 2002 Kopstein had been convicted in Portage County with a felony delivery of marijuana charge.
