Plea deal reached
A Mauston man reached a plea deal with the District Attorney’s Office. Earlier this week 36-year old Patrick Michel pleaded ‘no contest’ to a misdemeanor charge of ‘contact after domestic abuse arrest’ and the other charges were dismissed. Juneau County Judge Paul Curran agreed with the plea agreement. He found Michel guilty and sentenced him to 1-year in prison plus 1-year of extended supervision. Judge Curran stayed the sentence and placed Michel on two years’ probation. He is to have no contact with the victim. Michel was credited for 85-days already served in the Juneau County Jail.
