Justin Pierce waits in a Juneau County courtroom Friday morning prior to his hearing

An Arkdale man has been bound over for trial in Juneau County Circuit Court for the death of a Mauston woman.  30-year old Justin Pierce waived his right for a preliminary hearing Friday morning and Judge Paul Curran bound him over for trial in the death of 20-year old Laura Kruger.  Pierce is charged with homicide by use of a vehicle with a prohibited alcohol concentration.  Kruger died as a result of injuries received in the October 2011 crash.  Terry and Ann Kruger were in the courtroom Friday morning.  Pierce’s family members were also in attendance.  According to the criminal complaint, Pierce was driving south on County Road ‘HH’ near 55th Street in the Town of Kildare.  He allegedly took a photo with his cell phone and was going to send it to friends in the Dells when the collision occurred.  Pierce’s blood test showed an alcohol concentration above the legal limit to drive.  Kruger’s toxicology tests showed no alcohol in her system.  Pierce’s arraignment date has been set for February 25th, 2013.
