Peace Presbyterian church gets a fresh look
contributed…..What began as a simple spring landscaping project developed into major exterior work for Mauston’s 90-year-old Peace Presbyterian Church building. The landscape design developed by Emil Skorik was put on hold, new gutters were installed by Slaney’s Echo Valley Seamless, a new sidewalk was poured by Ruland’s Concrete, and erosion control landscape brick was laid by Vinz Landscaping. Then a new roof took priority over the planned beautification project.
The impressive new roof has been completed by the crew of Travis Jefferies, Guy Hoogstra, Dan Schneider, Jeremiah Rose, Chaz Fromel, and Carlos Aponte of Wafle, Thomas, and Lubinski Builders Hoogstra. When Travis was asked about the view from top the church, he said “There sure was a great view from up there. You can see for miles.” The church expresses a big “Thanks” to all the business that have helped improve the building’s appearance, safety, and soundness.
The landscape plan that was approved for 2012 will now be a spring 2013 project. Keep a watchful eye for the colorful corner of Division and Oak Street.
