Oxford driver crosses centerline reaching for sunglasses
An Oxford man was cited as a result of a two-vehicle accident last month. The deputy said 73-year old William Halla was traveling east on County Road ‘EE’. He told the deputy his sunglasses had fallen off and he was reaching down to pick them up. The 2002 Chevy S10 pickup crossed the centerline and struck a 2011 Ford Fiesta car being driven by a Sussex, Wisconsin man, 62-year old Wayne Rajchel. Rajchel told the deputy he saw the pickup cross the centerline and attempted to avoid a collision by pulling off the roadway onto the shoulder/ditch area. But Halla continued traveling and struck the car. No one was injured. Halla was cited for ‘inattentive driving’.
