Operating car without owner’s consent
A Mauston man was incarcerated in the Juneau County Jail over the weekend. Police said Saturday morning about 2:30am officers responded to a two-vehicle crash at Hanover and Maine Streets in the City of Mauston. Investigation revealed 49-year old Darin Skiff had allegedly stolen a white colored Chevy Impala while it was parked in front of Randall’s Bar. The owner had started her car and then went back inside the bar. When she went outside about a half hour later, her car was gone. Skiff had allegedly crashed the car into an unoccupied parked minivan. He was located hiding behind the van. Skiff was arrested for bail jumping, operating motor vehicle without the owner’s consent, OWI-1st offense, and possession of Schedule II narcotics.
