Opening Weekend Numbers Increase
Area counties saw an increase in the opening weekend numbers of the gun deer season. According to the DNR, Juneau County’s total deer harvest increased 18-percent from last year with 2314 deer registered, 1190 bucks and 1124 doe. Adams County hunters registered 1600 deer during the opening weekend, a 10% increase. Monroe County registered 3067 deer, an increase of 28%. And Wood County hunters saw a 29% increase with 2945 deer registered.
