A New Lisbon man ignored verbal warnings as he drove around two sets of cones on the City of New Lisbon’s southeast side Friday night.  Police said about 10:30pm 61-year old John Stastny had turned from Goodland Street onto Monroe Street and also drove around cones put in place at Truman Street and U.S. Highway 12/16 to stop traffic as a result of a car striking an electric pole several hours earlier.  Several fire fighters were yelling at Stastny but he continued driving over Mediacom’s fiber optic line until he was stopped by police.  Stastney acted surprised and felt he had not done anything wrong.  Stastney was cited for inattentive driving.
