A New Lisbon man has been found guilty of criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct.  According to online documents, in August 2012 38-year old John Vopelak plead no contest to the misdemeanor charges as part of a plea agreement.  In turn, a felony charge of unsafe burning of own building was dismissed, but read into the record for sentencing purposes.  Juneau County Judge Paul Curran withheld sentence and placed Vopelak on two-years probation.  Vopelak was ordered to take all medications and continue treatment.  The defendant owes the court $531.  According to the criminal complaint, in August 2011 Vopelak started his house on Highway 58 in the Town of Germantown on fire causing severe damage to the living room and rooms on the west side.  The fire also caused a hole in the floor and roof.
