A former Elroy resident was honored on June 9th.  Tilmar Roalkvam was inducted into the Elroy Society Wall of Honor.  Former Wisconsin Governor and Elroy resident Tommy Thompson was at the event and described Roalkvam as “bigger than life”.  Roalkvam passed away May 30, 2005 at the age of 86.  He served in WWII receiving a Bronze Star.  Roalkvam then owned and operated Tilmar’s Milk Service in Elroy and also served as a rural mailman for many years.  He was called “Mr. Elroy” for his dedication to the community.  Raolkvam’s son David spoke for the family.  He said his dad would be honored and thanked everyone for honoring his late father.
