A Wonewoc woman was cited as a result of a car/motorcycle accident in the City of Mauston last week. Police said Wednesday afternoon about 3:30pm 18-year old Bree Melvin was traveling south on Union Street turning left onto State Street. She wasn’t paying attention and struck a motorcycle traveling north on Union Street straight through the intersection. The operator of the 2004 Honda motorcycle, 61-year old Reynolds Appell of New Lisbon, was medically transported with moderate injuries. Melvin was uninjured. She was cited for ‘failure to yield right-of-way’ and fined $303. Appell was cited for ‘operator without a valid motorcycle license’ and ‘non-registration of motorcycle’. He had purchased it over 3-weeks prior to the crash. His fines totaled $291.
