Monroe County authorities are asking the public’s help in locating a white male involved in a hit and run accident Monday morning, September 9th, 2013.  Detective Sergeant Ronald Rader says, “About 6am a light colored older model Ford Taurus was involved in a two-vehicle accident on County Road ‘O’ just north of Destiny Avenue in the Town of Lincoln.  The 1996 to 1999 model range of Taurus should have damage to the passenger’s side of the car.  There might also be a dark colored paint transfer on the car from the vehicle it struck.  After the collision, the suspect driver, a white man, possible age 18 to 25, with short spiky hair tried to force the woman driver of the other vehicle into his car and attempted to kidnap her.  She was able to escape and summoned help from a passerby.  She initially ran to a nearby house to get help but no one answered the door.  The suspect was wearing a white-colored hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and boots.  While the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office was investigating this incident, the Tomah Police took a report of a stolen car similar to the description involved in the hit and run and kidnapping attempt.  There was another incident earlier in the morning, about 4:30am when a person in a car similar to the suspect vehicle pulled behind this other woman asking for directions and then wanted her to show him the location.  The woman was afraid and walked into her residence on Flicker Road west of the City of Tomah.  The man made a sexual comment and left.  It is unknown if these matters are related, but the vehicle description was similar.  If anyone knows who the suspect is or any information about these matters, they are asked to contact the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department at 608-269-2117 or the Tomah PD at 608-374-7400.”
