The Mauston School Board held a special meeting on Wednesday night to discuss the Montessori Charter School Grant and the community survey on school district facilities planning. While the board took no official action, they gave Mauston’s superintendent, Dr. Christine Weymouth permission to find out to see if there is interest in the community for such a school. If after the planning process the district decides not to implement a Montessori charter school, the district does not have to pay any money back. After this, the board worked with Bill Foster, from School Perceptions, to revise the community survey to make it shorter and more concise. This also required no official action from the board. The next regular meeting for the Mauston School Board will be September 15 at 7:00pm.
