A Mauston man received multiple citations as a result of a one-vehicle accident Sunday morning.  The deputy said about 1 a.m., 31-year old Daniel Townsend was traveling east on Volling Lane in the Town of Lemonweir when he lost control on the snow and ice covered roadway.  The 1997 Chevy Cavalier slid into the ditch and damaged a mailbox.  When the deputy went to investigate about 9 a.m. Sunday, the car was in the ditch and Townsend was gone.  Townsend told authorities he was going to come back and talk with the mailbox owner later in the day.  Townsend was cited for ‘Hit and run of property adjacent to highway’, ‘Operating motor vehicle without insurance’, and ‘Failure to have vehicle under control’.  His fines totaled $677.
