A Mauston man has been charged with disorderly conduct and obstructing an officer. On Thursday, the Juneau County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to the 800 block of East State Street for a subject walking in yards, looking in windows, and walking in traffic. The deputy made contact with the subject, who was later identified as 36-year-old Dante Coney. When he told Coney that the department had received calls that a man fitting his description had been in people’s yards, Coney became upset. According to the criminal complaint, Coney would not give his name to the deputy and allegedly started swearing and threatening the deputy. He was then arrested and transported to the Juneau County Jail. A records check showed that Coney was out on bond and one of the condition was to commit no crime. This has lead with Coney being charged with bail jumping as well. At a hearing last Friday, bond was set at a $1,000 signature bond and Coney is to maintain absolute sobriety at all times. A status conference has been scheduled for April 8 at 12:45 pm.
