A pair of Mauston High School football players came to the aid of an elementary school student after their victory last Friday night against Nekoosa.  Gage Kobylski and Sterling Wilke overheard a physical incident that took place involving a 10 year old elementary school student.  Kobylski and Wilke made sure the kid got home to his family safely by walking him home while still in pads and uniform.  Gage and Sterling were honored by the Mauston Police department and Chief Mike Zilisch for their act of kindness.  The two students were presented with a Mauston Police Department Challenge coin.  It’s a token of the Police Departments appreciation for Kobylski and Wilke going above and beyond what is expected out of them.  The Mauston Police Department thanks them for escorting one of their fellow classmates home safely.  They hope this encourages others to do good deeds as well.
