A Mauston man was charged last week in Adams County with OWI-3rd offense, operating while revoked, and possession of THC.  The deputy said on Christmas Eve 23-year old Jeffrey Uptain was stuck in a ditch at the intersection of Highways 82 and 13 in Adams County.  A pickup truck had pulled the car Uptain was driving out of the ditch.  He continued traveling but did not stop at the intersection and made a left turn onto Highway 13.  The deputy then stopped Uptain.  Investigation revealed he had been drinking.  Uptain was transported to Moundview Hospital for a blood draw.  But Uptain refused to cooperate and he was held down on the floor so the nurse could draw blood.  A search revealed a baggie of marijuana in Uptain’s pocket.
