Mauston awarded for Water Fluoridation Quality
The City of Mauston was commended for its consistent, high quality water fluoridation practice by the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention. During the Mauston City Council Meeting Tuesday night, Mauston Mayor Brian McGuire announced the City’s 2011 Water Fluoridation Quality Award and recognized David Bosgraaf and the other Public Works employees. The award recognizes water systems that adjust fluoride concentration and achieve an optimal monthly average for 12 consecutive months. According to the State Department of Health Services, fluoridation prevents tooth decay and improves the quality of life.
