A Mauston man was taken into custody Monday afternoon.  Police said about 4pm an officer responded to a residence in the 400-block of West Avenue in the City of Mauston for a disturbance for a man with a gun complaint.  When the officer arrived, 18-year old Anthony Mueller was walking on Tremont Street.  Investigation revealed Mueller was involved in an altercation with his step-father and had left the apartment with a gun.  When the officer located Mueller walking on Division Street, he could see the barrel, then the firearm fall to the ground.  Mueller was handcuffed and transported to the Juneau County Jail.  The rifle was identified as a .22 Ruger reported stolen last month from an unlocked truck parked in a driveway in the 800-block of West Milwaukee Street in the City of Mauston.  Mueller has been tentatively charged with disorderly conduct, receiving stolen property, carrying a concealed weapon, and placed on a probation hold.
