Highway 82 East in the City of Mauston was blocked for several hours earlier this month while 200-pound sheets of metal were removed from the roadway.  Police said Sunday evening, April 7th, 2013 about 7pm 40-year old Craig Jonsgaard of Rushford, Minnesota was operating a semi when the cargo slid-off the trailer as he made a left turn off the Interstate exit ramp onto Highway 82.  The straps holding the sheets of metal were possibly cut when the load shifted.  Approximately four-hours later, the highway was eventually cleared and both lanes of traffic were opened.  A records check showed Jonsgaard’s driving status was suspended in Minnesota and he has no driver’s license in Wisconsin.  Jonsgaard has been charged with ‘operating commercial motor vehicle without a license-non-resident’.  His initial court appearance is scheduled for June 5th, 2013.
