Kind votes against CR
contributed….WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Rep. Ron Kind (D-WI) released the following statement on voting against the House majority’s Continuing Resolution (CR), politically motivated legislation that virtually guarantees a federal government shutdown: “This political brinksmanship has to end. This is a self-inflicted wound, a manufactured crisis brought upon our country by an irresponsible House majority that is willing to shut down the federal government in order to achieve its ideological goals. “The economic security of the United States is being taken hostage. The worst thing we can do right now to slow economic growth is shutting down the government, which is the path that the House majority has now put us on. “The approach being taken in the House is short-sighted and fiscally irresponsible. We should fund our government, pay our bills, and work on a long-term, bipartisan deficit reduction plan to get our fiscal house in order. This starts with lowering health care costs for all Americans.”
