Candidate Mike Solovey, moderator Mike Taake, and candidate Stacy Smith at forum

In less than two weeks, the voters of Juneau County will decide who will serve as their next District Attorney, Mike Solovey or Stacy Smith.  The two candidates faced off in a forum held at the Mauston High School auditorium Tuesday night hosted by the Democratic Party of Juneau County.  Mike Solovey defeated incumbent District Attorney Scott Southworth during the Republican Primary in August and advances to face former Juneau County Assistant DA Stacy Smith in the November 6th, 2012 General Election.  Smith, a current Assistant District Attorney in Vernon County, is running as an independent.  Approximately fifty citizens attended the forum Tuesday night and heard both candidates intelligently and thoughtfully answer the questions asked by the moderator, Mike Taake.  Next Tuesday night, October 30th, 2012, a forum will be held for the candidates running for Wisconsin’s 50th Assembly District.
