Tuesday morning the Juneau County Board authorized paying an additional 18-thousand dollars plus to Hartje Lumber for the completion of the construction of the County Public Works Cold Storage Building.  The original building contracted price was just over 71-thousand dollars.  But after the plans were altered to include additional storage for Emergency Management, it became necessary to purchase additional posts and trusses.  “Initially it was believed county workers could do the additional construction, but to ensure the safety of the county employees, the Highway and Public Works Committee recommended the work be completed by Hartje Lumber,” said Board Chair Alan Peterson.  Hartje was also the low bidder.  The funds are to be paid from the Public Works Department budget.
