Three area residents have been cited for issuing worthless checks to a downtown Mauston gas station.  Police said last month a LaValle man, 25-year old Isaac Rowe wrote a check for almost $52 to Boberg’s Gas and Go.  A Fox Lake woman, 33-year old April Stokes, wrote one for $30 and a Mauston man, 46-year old Scott Mears, wrote a check for $109.  All three checks were returned for non-sufficient funds.  The Mauston business is asking for restitution plus an additional $30 fee from each person.  Rowe, Stokes, and Mears were each fined $202.20.
