Inmate Pleads No Contest to Battery Charge
An inmate from the New Lisbon Correctional Institute has pleaded no contest to a battery by prisoner charge. On Tuesday, 45-year-old Edward Anderson appeared in court with his attorney before Judge John Roemer. According to the criminal complaint, Anderson had struck another inmate in the head several times after the inmate had told Anderson to stay away from him. The inmate required medical attention and was transported to a nearby hospital. Judge Roemer sentenced Anderson to 135 days in jail. It is to be served consecutively with any other sentence Anderson is currently serving.
