The Hillsboro School District held a special meeting on Monday night. One of the items on the agenda was a 1:1 Chromebook initiative. Superintendent Curt Bisarek said that after a lengthy discussion regarding the leasing of Chromebooks, the board voted 4-2 to enter into a 3-year lease for Chromebooks for Grades 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10. In other business, the board accepted the resignation of John Koopman as physical education teacher, boys basketball coach and assistant football coach. It hired Curt Hildreth as 6-12 physical education teacher and boys basketball coach, Jon-Paul DaPrato as assistant football coach, and approved the transfer of Anita Burch from Kindergarten Aide to Title one Paraprofessional. The next regular school board meeting will be August 11th at 7:00pm in the High School Library.
