A Hillsboro man died Thursday night as a result of injuries received in a one-vehicle accident. Vernon County Sheriff John Spears said, “about 9:20pm 59-year old Joseph Verbsky was traveling east on St. Johns Avenue in the Town of Greenwood near Hillsboro.  He lost control while rounding a curve.  The vehicle went off the roadway and struck an embankment.  Verbsky was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the driver’s seat.  He was later pronounced dead at the scene by the Vernon County Coroner’s Office.  This marks Vernon County’s 10th traffic fatality in 2012.”
