A Site Assessment Grant has been awarded to the City of Mauston to assist in redevelopment improvements at the Allied Cooperative location.  The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation announced Monday that the City of Mauston has been awarded $60,322 to assist in making the site of the Mauston Feed Mill more attractive.  During the June City Council Meeting, the Council approved a Resolution authorizing the City’s participation in the SAG program.  Mauston City Administrator Nathan Thiel had said at the time that the grant will require no financial support from the City.  Allied Cooperative Representative Scott Firlus had told the Council that the Co-op plans to expand its retail tire shop.  Allied Co-op will match the 50/50 grant and it will use the funds to demolish the old grain elevator and accessory structures on Prairie Street.
