Friendship woman accused of mistreating dogs
A Friendship woman, 45-year old Lisa Etheridge, has been charged with two counts of mistreating animals. According to the criminal complaint, an August 2012 a deputy and animal control officer responded to a residence in the City of Adams for a welfare check of two dogs. They observed the smell from the kennel was overwhelming. The yellow lab retriever was extremely thin with visible ribs and infections in its eyes and ears. The basset hound’s condition was very poor as well, with a possible type of skin cancer. Both dogs were removed from the kennel and transported to an animal shelter in Oxford. The dogs were treated for their sores and were given clean water and food. Etheridge is summoned to appear in court on November 19th, 2012.
